*SUMMARY:*
The Hemodialysis RN is responsible for the direct nursing care and hemodialysis treatments on all assigned patients within the chronic hemodialysis unit; as a Team Leader, is responsible for the supervision of designated staff members; assists as needed with patient care and serves in a professional manner with emphasis on quality care.
*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:*
Minimum requirements include graduation from an accredited school of nursing; one year of dialysis experience preferred; current registration with the Mississippi Board of Nursing; ability to use a variety of physical motions in day-to-day activity including standing, turning, bending, stooping, lifting and climbing; ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time without experiencing fatigue; flexible to role changes when assigned to function as Team Leader or Staff RN; willingness to function as Charge Nurse when designated by Nursing Supervisor, Clinical Director, or Dialysis Administrator; ability to provide nursing care on assigned patients and to handle/direct problems to appropriate service; demonstrated ability to accept responsibility and delegate duties to assigned personnel.
Physical guidelines include ability to stand/walk for up to eight hours/day, bend, stoop, twist, climb, assist patients in turning, assist patients in arising from exam table, push wheelchair patients, and assist patients in arising from and returning to wheelchair.
