Overview The mission of the Jones Lumber finance team is to be “Trusted Business Partners” within the company.
This is accomplished by informing, supporting and challenging our colleagues.
The Accounting Clerk position is vital to this mission and to the financial and administrative operations of the company.
Critical to the position is ensuring integrity, accuracy and timeliness of data processing.
Key Duties and Responsibilities • Create and manage customers and customer files using Lumbertrack and Great Plains softwares.
This includes collecting customer credit information and assisting CFO in establishing credit limits.
• Receive, review and process customer purchase orders.
• Verify accuracy of daily production and shipments and revise any errors; prepare and send customer invoices daily.
• Maintain records of invoices and support documents.
• Continuously review accounts receivable aging for delinquent collections and credit limit restrictions.
• Work with sales team resolving customer disputes and payment issues.
• Assist in inventory monitoring and reconciliation.
• Create and manage vendors and vendor files using Great Plains and Lumbertrack softwares.
This includes maintaining contracts and insurance certificates when required.
• Receive, review and process vendor invoices ensuring proper expense coding.
• Work with Purchasing Manager and Mill Managers to verify accuracy of invoiced rates and quantities of goods and services received, and payments terms.
• Receive and review vendor statements.
• Work with vendors to resolve billing disputes.
• Maintain company vehicle tag, title and registration information.
• Additional tasks as they are assigned by members of management.
