Director of Nursing (DON)

Responsibilities: - Oversee and manage all aspects of nursing operations within the organization - Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care - Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, including training and development - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication - Monitor and evaluate nursing performance to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions - Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of practice - Participate in strategic planning and goal setting for the nursing department - Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, and other departments Skills: - Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and hospice care systems - Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team - Proficient in shift management and scheduling to ensure adequate staffing levels - Effective communication skills to collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals - Ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure situations - Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines - Experience in home health or similar healthcare settings is preferred Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and may be subject to change or modification at any time.
