Job Summary:
The position requires that the individual assist the professional nursing staff by performing specific nursing functions related to patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.
Performs required documentation every shift to include but not limited to vital signs, activities of daily living, daily cares, intake and output hygiene, foley and peri care, and daily weights.
Performance Expectations:
Demonstrates the aptitude to navigate the electronic medical record to document the daily care of the residents, to include vitals, I and O’s, ADL’s, Turns, Rounds, Weights, etc.
Embraces and practices the We Care philosophy in all interactions.
Demonstrates the knowledge of the handbook regarding the employee responsibility regarding attendance, benefits, attitude, cell phones, and etc.
Demonstrates knowledge of the operation of the patient care beds and the equipment used on this specific unit.
Demonstrates the knowledge of abuse/neglect of vulnerable persons.
Demonstrates the knowledge of educational opportunities/in-service education and webinars regarding the type of unit.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
High School Diploma/GED and completion of an approved Nurse Aide training course required.
Successful completion of technician course at FGH during clinical orientation required.
Work Experience:
Nurse Aide work experience required.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
Certified Nurse Aid Certificate
Additional Certification/Licensure - Obtained based on required timeframe below
