*Job Summary:*
Provides Nursing Care to Nursing Home Residents; supervises other LPN’s and Nurse Aides.
*Responsibilities and Duties:*
* Administers medications and treatments as ordered; takes vital signs
* Provides information regarding changes in Residents’ progress to the RN Supervisor
* Stocks and prepares medication cart for rounds
* Charts Residents’ progress, ailment, medication, symptoms, incidents and observations
* Schedules and provides treatments as recommended by Physician and at a time convenient for the Resident
* Assists with Resident ADL Care as required
* Performs physical observations of Residents and reports to RN; documents findings in medical record
* Receives and records Physicians’ Orders in medical record; ensures compliance with Physician’s Orders
* Communicates with other Departments to adequately meet Residents’ needs
* Assists in Infection Control monitoring; complies with Universal Precautions and Isolation Procedures
* Observes, monitors instructs and supervises Nurse Aides
*Qualifications and Skills:*
Practical Nursing License in good standing in the State of Mississippi; prefer experience in Long-Term Care Nursing with comprehensive knowledge of Nursing techniques and their relation to medical practices and skills and their application, with thorough knowledge of principles and practices of Long-Term Care.
