Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Nursing is accountable and responsible, under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing of Marion General Hospital for the overall coordination and direction of all nursing activities in all areas.
Employs organizational strategies in a balanced approach that produces meaningful contributions to each element of the Formula for Success.
Requires the promotion of and adherence to the organization's established Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct.
Performance Expectations: Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in the department providing up to date information of expected change or informational.
Completes staffing plans for department four weeks in advance with the staffing scheduler• Monitors time and attendance daily and conferences employees on an as needed basis Mentor, coach, educate staff and complete evaluation performance of assigned staff.
Perform staff duties when needed as reflected by Job Description 2607RN, including staffing unit if there is a staffing crisis.
Resolves issues and problems daily and independently Collects data and submits required data to the MS State Department of Health as defined by the state for conditions of participation.
Collect and submit data for STEMI, Stroke, and Trauma Registries Utilizes data to identify any noncompliance for standards of care and acts to improve the workflow in the department, making any needed changes to accomplish this.
Collects and reports Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Data and implements needed changes on the patient care units to meet goals.
Attends and participates in the Medical Executive Staff meetings for review of any patient and/or provider issues or concerns.
Attend all mandatory staff meetings and assigned education events.
Engages clinical staff of all areas in the dynamic process of integrating mission and values in the drive towards future goals.
Critically evaluates, synthesizes, and interrelates information from internal and external sources when solving problems and making decisions.
Gets results by managing strategy for continuous change, assumes responsibility for achieving outcomes, willingly offers to take on new responsibility.
Leads others in two-way communication both verbally and in writing; uses effective listening skills by demonstrating attention to and conveying an understanding of the ideas and opinions of others.
Creates and sustains an environment that integrates the values of shared decision making into clinical and leadership practices.
Establishes collaborative relationships and promotes teamwork within and across departments.
Removes barriers to achieve outcomes and facilitate the work of others.
Communicates effectively with patient care coordinators, providers, and all other staff in an appropriate and timely manner and adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization, i.

customer service, safety, infection, control, and compliance standards.
Consistently follows Marion General Hospital policy, procedures, and standards of care in performing nursing duties.
Ensures capital budget is utilized for the cost centers assigned including planning, obtaining quotes, and maintaining budgeted costs.
Ensures financial viability with effective use of supplies and staff.
Attends, observes, and cohost patient care areas staff meetings and ensures communication of leadership meeting information is conveyed to all staff Ensures infection control procedures and quality measures are followed on all patient care units.
Monitors and evaluates Nursing Care on a continuous basis for all departments.
Provides leadership to patient care coordinators and serves as a role model for staff Assigns review of nursing policy and procedures annually and presents the policies to Nurse Executive Committee and Medical Staff for approval.
Ensures Patient Care Coordinators are effectively communicates changes in policy and procedures and other appropriate communication to staff.
Participates in department planning, decision making and policy formation.
Holds staff accountable to organization mission and vision.
Qualifications: Education/Skills: Graduate of a recognized non-online RN program.
Master's degree in nursing preferred.
Work Experience: A minimum of four years nursing leadership experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE Licensed RN able to practice within the State of MS
