As a Telecommunications Specialist IV, you will use your experience and expertise to support the daily operational control of our sophisticated voice and data telecommunications LAN/WAN system.

*Responsibilities/Expectations:* * Provides technical services to daily operational control of a large complex voice, data telecommunications and LAN/WAN system with technical services * Provides reliable and efficient telecommunications and network services to the offices and field sites located across central AL, eastern MS and western GA * Maintains field telecom/network equipment (radios, VSAT, fiber, routers, switches, term servers, alarm remotes, cell modems, DC power systems, security cameras/systems, etc.
) independently, with assistance from other internal or external support teams as the need arises * Installs, troubleshoots, tests and maintains all telecom/network equipment and on-site DC power systems including batteries (12V, 24V, 48V), rectifiers, generators, fuse panels, solar panels and grounding * Coordinates with SCADA, Gas Control, Network Services, local operations and company partners * Collaborates with Telecommunications Engineers/Specialists to assure the reliable operations of the Company's Telecommunications assets * Demonstrates technical expertise in specialties, geographic areas or operational functions * Applies specialized knowledge to complete projects and/or work assignments * Collaborates with Operations, SCADA, Pipeline Control, Measurement, and other support groups and outside vendors or contractors * Installs, tests, and maintains all telecom and network equipment located within assigned area of responsibility; Occasionally works outside assigned area to assist other techs, help with projects, and to provide support as needed * Maintains and repairs all company owned and leased communications facilities including towers, buildings, and all associated equipment.
Tower climbing is performed by contractors, but the responsible Williams tech will ensure safe work practices are followed and quality results are achieved * Other duties as assigned *Education/Years of Experience:* *Telecommunications Specialist II* *Education/Years of Experience:* * Required: Related Associate's degree, two-year technical school degree or military training; Minimum three (3) years of experience in telecommunications, network operations or related field *Telecommunications Specialist III* *Education/Years of Experience:* * Required: Related Associate's degree, two-year technical school degree or military training; Minimum six (6) years of experience in telecommunications, network operations or related field *Telecommunications Specialist IV* *Education/Years of Experience:* * Required: Related Associate's degree, two-year technical school degree or military training; Minimum ten (10) years of experience in telecommunications, network operations or related field *Other Requirements:* * Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record * Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Thrives in a team environment and can build partnerships with others *Physical and Environment Work Requirements:* Must be willing to: * Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces * Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed * Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time * Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) * Use hand tools *Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:* * Requires the ability to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holiday as needed * May be required to work overtime * Must be willing to travel daily using company provided vehicle; Overnight travel will occasionally be vital *Why Choose Williams?* We are committed to providing our employees with competitive compensation and benefits as part of your Total Rewards package to help protect your current and future physical, emotional, and financial health.
