A Mortgage Loan Originator assists new and potential loan applicants with navigating the mortgage loan process from start to finish.
They are responsible for securing loan file financial documents from potential borrowers, analyzing the loan file data, and consulting with prospective borrowers to educate them on varying loan products.
They work with processors and underwriters to ensure the mortgage loan application meets regulatory and financial institution guidelines for lending.
*Major duties and Responsibilities*
· Meet with mortgage loan borrowers on the phone and in person, advising and guiding them throughout the entire loan process.
· Collect and analyze prospective buyer income, assets and liabilities, and loan application documents to determine credit worthiness.
· Counsel borrowers to understand the pros and cons of different loan products to determine which is the best for them.
· Originate and evaluate mortgage loans according to company guidelines and standards.
· Review the loan process by monitoring loan status, term conformity, and regulatory guidelines.
· Interact with customers, realtors, processors, and underwriters to ensure a smooth transaction.
· Prospect, develop, and maintain relationships with potential new business referral partners such as realtors, builders, bank colleagues, and the community at large.
*Education and Work Experience*
· High School diploma or GED required
· Secondary education preferred
· Mortgage origination experience required
· Must have good written and oral communication skills, good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $33,000.
